June is a marriage and family therapist in Durham Region employed by Shalem Mental Health Network. June provides counseling for individuals, couples and families using a client-centered approach based on individual needs. June has experience with mental illnesses and has a passion for helping churches become supportive and inclusive communities around people with mental illnesses.
June has been working in the mental health and social services field in Durham Region for over 30 years. Previously she worked for the Canadian Mental Health Association in various roles. She has experience supporting people with mental illnesses and also their families/caregivers.
June is also a Grandma and loves spending time with her grandkids. She enjoys travel, reading and fishing with her husband – he does the fishing and she reads by the water.
Karen Martin M.Div.
Karen recently joined Faith and Hope Ministries as a Resource Consultant. She engaged her organizational and speaking skills to Faith and Hope’s past two Conference Planning Teams. Karen’s life experience and former pastoral-care ministry role have informed her desire to support faith communities to actively embrace and encourage people whose lives have been touched by mental health concerns.
Karen is a graduate of Tyndale Seminary having received her Master of Divinity in Counselling. She is a General Member of The Ontario Association of Consultants, Counsellors, Psychometrists and Psychotherapists (OACCPP). Karen currently facilitates a support group and provides counselling to individuals and couples in a community based agency in Peterborough. In addition, she is employed as a Direct Support Professional with Christian Horizons.
Karen is blessed to be married to Neil and now resides in Cobourg. She also enjoys walking and spending time with their families, grandchildren and friends.
